Database Administrator Engineer (Junior)

Kathmandu, Nepal

  1. We are looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for designing, maintaining and monitoring the databases with different data manipulation languages.

Responsibilities

  • Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
  • Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.
  • Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
  • Build  database systems of high quality and availability.
  • Updating systems when necessary and creating data backups.
  • Minimize database downtime and optimize database for better query responses.
  • Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
  • Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.

Must Have

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Should have proficiency in data manipulation languages, including MS SQL, Oracle Database or PostgreSQL.
  • Should have knowledge with multiple operating systems.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and responsible.
  • Capable of working under pressure.
  • Up to date with trends and developments in database administration.
  • Any experience with any web development is preferred.
